The Oceania Customs Organization (OCO), which represents 23 Pacific Island countries, fosters synchronization, collaboration and assistance amongst its members on Customs matters, in collaboration with our partner United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) through EDF11 Funding invites applications to join its Secretariat located in Suva, Fiji for the positions of:
- Project Coordinator
- Finance and Administration Assistant
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for general project management, document management and reporting for the EDF 11 Program and will be responsible for ensuring that project implementation and reporting is in accordance with the Agreements between UNCTAD and the OCO Secretariat.
Project Coordinator
- University Degree in public administration, project management or other field relevant to the coordination of the project accounting
- At least 10 years’ experience in management and administration of large donor-funded projects with proven ability to successfully coordinate and manage project work;
- A good knowledge of international funding agency procedures and reporting requirements;
- Experience in recruiting, managing, motivating and monitoring staff members and consultants;
- Training and/or relevant experience in project monitoring and evaluation;
- Strong report writing and analytical skills, with a demonstrable record of delivery on time;
- Fluency in the English language, ability to explain program issues clearly to partners, and experience in making presentations;
- Excellent computer skills; word, excel and email.

The Finance and Administration Assistant will provide finance, accounting and administration support to the EDF11 project in areas such as preparing regular financial reports in accordance with the donor and corporate requirements; assisting in budget and audit preparations; assist with events and logistics for all activities; and provide overall Administration and accounting support to the division.
Finance and Administration Assistant
- A University Degree in Business, Accounting, Public Administration, project management or other field relevant to the coordination of the project accounting
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in project accounting and financial reporting in a reputable organization.
- Use of modern management and information systems and accounting software.
- Operating experience with accounting software packages.
- Analytical ability and advanced computer literacy, especially with Microsoft office applications.
- Good working knowledge of project financial reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to work under pressure with a team-oriented approach to meet deadlines and achieve team goals.
- Experience in travel and logistics.
- Ability to effectively manage information and well organized.
