Director General of FFA visits OCO

Mr Seve Paeniu, Head of Secretariat with Mr James Movick, Director General of the Forum Fisheries Agency

Mr James Movick, Director General of the Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA), paid a visit at the OCO headquarters in Suva on 10th August 2017 and held discussions with the OCO Head of Secretariat Seve Paeniu.

The discussions revolved around options and arrangements for broader maritime law enforcement cooperation, which will be further discussed in greater detail at a regional organizations meeting to be hosted by the Director General at the FFA headquarters in Honiara, Solomon Islands next week.

The Honiara meeting, which OCO shall also be attending, shall focus on identifying practical opportunities and constraints to regional cooperation at the operational level, which can enhance the inter-sectoral aspects of information sharing and enforcement cooperation as a prelude to informing decisions about adopting more formal maritime domain awareness frameworks.
