The Oceania Customs Organisation is an inter-governmental organisation in the Pacific Region dedicated to helping its 24 member administrations align with international customs standards and best practices. This alignment leads to greater economic prosperity and enhanced border security. We are inviting applications for the Accountant position within our Secretariat office located in Suva, Fiji.

 

The Accountant role will work closely with and assist the Finance & Corporate Services Manager in providing effective financial management and budgeting services, maintaining sound internal financial controls and managing daily finance operations.  This role involves responsibilities in financial management, budgeting and internal control.

  • A University degree in Accounting or a related field;
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in project accounting and financial reporting in a reputable organisation;
  • Finance Team Leadership experience;
  • Use of modern management and information systems and accounting software;
  • Navision experience is desirable;
  • Knowledge of PayGlobal software;
  • Demonstrated experience with complex, multi-faceted financial reporting;
  • Knowledge of best practices in financial systems and processes;
  • Experience in maintaining a sound internal control environment.
  • Desirable: Fellowship at either Fijian/Australian/New Zealand Chartered Accountants (CA) or Certified Practising Accountants (CPA)
